What the Who and their promoter are doing is naked greed and I hope there are thousands of empty seats.

Saw the Eagles at Wembley last weekend. Usual gamut of ticket touts on the way in. Plenty of empty seats at the concert, so hopefully the touts got their fingers burnt.

Regarding ticket prices, don't forget in a £120 ticket, the government gets £20 off the top in VAT.

Older bands aren't streamed as much as modern content, so make less from direct music consumption, so are trying to make their wages up with concert income.

They charge £30+ for some crappy tribute bands.
My granddaughter's dance show in Basildon was £15 +£3 for a programme. All out of proportion.

That's the thing about the 'Oo, they're not a slick, polished , carefully choreographed showbiz act. Sometimes they're a bit shambolic and rough around the edges. Bum notes, wrong lyrics etc, but I like all that. It means they're still a proper rock'n'roll band, and a fucking great one at that.

It wasn't great, but certainly wasn't shocking. Didn't need a squad of backing singers to cover up a shit voice a la Kylie.

I saw Quadraphonia in Hyde Park in 1990

Ans the same at the Wenbely Arena 97 the same Dagenham played Woking in FA trophy final . I went to both event and Wokainans were terrified of the Dagenhamites

Saw The Who at The Lyceum in '73, supported by Kilburn and the High Roads (Ian Dury). They were magnificent.

My son of 29, who's been to scores of gigs and GlaStonbury six times, says that their gig there a few years ago was the best he's seen. Them and the Stones have to be the best rock bands of all time.

Having said that the prices are a fucking joke. UK rock fans are being scalped. £130 to be sat toward the back at pitch level is serious piss taking. If you want to be near the front it's £220.

To put this into context, twelve years ago Prince did a residency of 21 nights at the o2 and at Princes instruction all the tickets cost £30.

What the Who and their promoter are doing is naked greed and I hope there are thousands of empty seats.

He didn't look at pictures of naked kids, Ernie.

He just didn't.

It's on record that he didn't.

I think they got Eddie Vedder to play a full length set to try and sell more tickets to Pearl Jam fans didn’t they?

Ticket prices in general are a joke in the UK, though. £100+ for general admission....
